I am a painter from the City of Derry in N. Ireland .

   Art to me is a way to explore your inner and external senses. In this pursuit I tend to work in a variety of styles from the formal landscape to the more abstract. These contrasting styles have a strong reliance on the elements of light and dark, as one dos not exist without the other. Include the exploration of texture and colour into this, it makes for some interesting Paintings. Most of my work would be produced in Oil’s . Acrylic mediums do get used but not so often. In the past I have venture in to the realms of watercolour. These days they are predominantly  used for Urban sketching . My working practice is usually confined to the studio these days, as I am not as fits as I once was.
I do still take the odd excursion out doors to paint with local groups in and around Ireland.
